Hi,

I am looking into obtaining my FAA CPL & ME-IR, I already hold a JAR CPL/ME-IR and from what I can work out, I need to do an FAA medical, a small amount of training followed by a flight with an FAA examiner and a written test. I have found an FAA examiner in the UK but does anyone know of somewhere I can get FAA instruction in the UK? South West / Midlands preferable.

Thanks in advance. :)

See what Solo Flight in Humberside can do for you or Willow Air in Southend. Written tests can be taken at Flight Saftey in Farnborough (Hampshire) - they can also do fingerprints for TSA.

You will need TSA for ME and IR but not CPL, even in this country.

Instruction wise I believe Oxford has an FAA instructor as does Bonus Aviation at Cranfield. A guy called Rob Spencer (JAA/FAA).

The FAA examiner is a guy called Tom Houston. Very nice guy.
Get the written done (there may be other places but Farnborough does them). If you can get through the UK ME/IR the FAA will be a piece of cake.
