Obtaining an CPL FAA License in Aus

I sure this has being asked before, but is it possible to get an FAA licence sorted before hitting the ground in the states? I know where to get my medical done.

The closest place to get the exam done is Japan, and the flight test will need to be done in Americaland. Closest is Hawaii.

OK thanks, looks like will do only the medical here then the rest over there, any advice on what the 'exam' entails and where I should be looking to obtain material to prepare for it?
