Anyone notice the total inability of the BBC to flick to an appropriate camera to catch the flypast of the F3 4-ship over the Scotland/Wales game this afternoon? And, yes, they were on time and over the top.

Lack of PR or Corporate Coms at Leuchars or are the BBC scared of "war-mongering"?

Ray

p.s to all the to$$er$ who cant wait to say how useless the F3 is/was despite lacking any piloting credentials, don't bother, it won't be original or funny. I've started a stopwatch anyway...............

don't all events of this nature have a master schedule (this is when the teams run out, this is when the Higher Up(s) meet the teams, etc.)? Can't see how the flypast wouldn't be on it and therefore how Beeb wouldn't have known. Given that I'm going with the "pinko director" option :ok:

Just don't take it personally, the BBC make a hash of the flypast at Murrayfield every year - it's a sort of tradition!!

If they had bombed the Welsh front row then Scotland may have had a chance, then again maybe even that would be pushing it.

Ok there are loads of puns from there but think it better to stop digging. :)

Didn't see it on the Beeb...was at Murrayfield.
The timing was spot on, pity about the score though!

The rugby coverage wasn't too clever either! I found the camera to be jumping around at critical moments all through the game.

Good result though

Good job to the F3 mates, the sound of the jets going past was spot on timing.

What a shame about the BBC. The commentator knew they were coming as he said they were "Tornados from RAF Leuchars".

Wasn't at Murrayfield this time around (usually am) and it is often quite difficult to get a view from either the East or West stands of the jets that always support the Scottish internationals. The north stand has its back to the LOA and so I guess only the folks in the south get a good view of them as they approach. Mind you, they are not low and so the angle is pretty difficult for a ground-level camera in the bowl of the Murrayfield stadium.

Not that I'm excusing the BBC on recent past performance on subjects many and various!

It's just a shame that the four ship didn't do their flyover AFTER the final whistle. It might have brightened up an otherwise miserable afternoon.

Wondered why the EDI tower got buzzed by a 4ship flypast of mighty fins as I was driving out of it yesterday.....

Several years ago I was at The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff for the European Rugby Final when the Sparrows flew over, nobody saw much though, the roof was closed.:)
