spirit of the age
1st Feb 2009, 18:26
Did'nt servisair handle them once before?

GRIZZLER
1st Feb 2009, 18:44
looks like servisair will be doing the PIA.....lets hope they have fixed the toilets this time, so you won't need a gas mask to get the bags out of the rear pit.......last time it was like a honey cart ...with wings.

Servisair will be handling PIA as they never officially "lost" the contract before, PIA had to reduce their schedule into the UK due to a number of their other aircraft not being allowed into the EU. Servisair will continue to handle as if nothing had happened.

Aviance, Air Asia and GermanWings, all from their base at cargo!

Capt Wannabe
2nd Feb 2009, 19:50
Aviance have Air Asia X and GermanWings

PIA is apparently still 'under negotiation'

GRIZZLER
3rd Feb 2009, 14:13
a memo on servisairs restroom wall at STN says they have got PIA.

Pia Contract
a memo on servisairs restroom wall at STN says they have got PIA. Not too sure what is happening at servisair, but I personally overheard their ramp manager at the smoking shed say that they had wrongly assumed that they had automatically retained the pia contract.Capt Wannabe is correct when he says that the contract is still up for grabs

Dont tell me servisair have messed up........AGAIN!!!

4th Feb 2009, 09:03
What makes you think it is just Servisair that messes up Sat 1 ?

Speak to your Aviance DMs re the redundancies 4 weeks ago and now the company having by law to offer the guys their jobs back having won the Asia X contract.

sat1
4th Feb 2009, 09:44
they would do better suing the company, something the servisair boys are doing, and very good the case is looking---alledgedly.

GRIZZLER

SAT 1....don't you mean EX SERVISAIR BOYS??????

Aviance work is some mysterious ways !! Dont forget they gave up there pax handling licence a few years back, they have done exactly the same at LGW recently, and work out of a cargo shed for both places!!.

Now they make experienced DM's redundant just as they sign German Wings and AirAsia!!! and now you say by law they have to re-employ them, I bet they are not re-employed as DM's......sounds very shrewd to me!!!!:=

Having removed the middle managers(DM's) do you not think that the way is clear for Menzies to buy out?Known fact that menzies dislike middle management positions.Interesting times ahead.

Aviance cleary removed the DM's to get the long servers out and pay scales down!
If anyone reading this has recently joined Aviance and your hoping for a long term career think again!!

Seems that BA cargo is leaving STN.Where will that leave the handling agent?

TUGNBAR
17th Feb 2009, 18:47
Is that handled by Servisair? What will that leave them?

spirit of the age
25th Feb 2009, 15:58
BA Cargo is leaving Stn for Manston-mid march.Load masters will still be based at Stn and travel to Manston as required.Massive blow for servisair with redundancies surely inevitable. It seems that an amalgamation of pax handling and cargo ramp work is the only logical option open.'Times they are a'changing'

GRIZZLER
25th Feb 2009, 17:13
if true about ba ..yes things might change....but it will not be a new thing for servisair to run ramp and cargo together ,as they have done it before....when the terminal was north side it was a daily treck to cargo to do an offload...and it has been done since ....so nothing new for servisair.

sat1
25th Feb 2009, 18:24
what about the redundancies? which side of the operation?and how many?

TUGNBAR
25th Feb 2009, 18:59
So who or what was at fault with the recent "Aircraft to Equipment" incident leaving the aircraft tech and parked over the other side.

Flightmech
25th Feb 2009, 19:12
Hmmmm. Seen pictures of that one. Looks like the loader parked well within the silouette came off the better of the two.

sat1
25th Feb 2009, 19:22
who switched the agnis on?????

TUGNBAR
25th Feb 2009, 20:43
So AGNIS was switched off.

Does that mean the flight crew are at fault for coming on to stand un guided.

Or the ground crew for not switching the AGNIS on?

sat1
28th Feb 2009, 10:39
If the agnis is on surely that is telling the capt that its safe to proceed? Do you wait at traffic lights if the're green?

GRIZZLER
28th Feb 2009, 13:01
sat 1, you said do you sit at traffic lights when they are green.........my wife does.

FEROMAN
2nd Mar 2009, 20:55
If the Agnis was not switched on then unless there was a marshaller present it was totally the fault of the crew for proceeding onto stand. The switching on of the unit is the indication to the pilot that it is safe to proceed.

It's not a done deal yet
