Havent heard offically, but i believe Air New Zealand have cancelled their Lease of N418MC.
Qantas were quick to react,
SYDNEY 22 January 2009: Qantas Freight announced today that it would introduce a direct weekly
Boeing 747-400 freighter service between the United States and New Zealand from February 2009.
Group General Manager Qantas Freight, Mr Stephen Cleary said the new route confirmed Qantas
Freight’s commitment to serving the needs of its customers in the United States and New Zealand
QF Currently lease 3x Atlas B744F, have approval from the board for 5, waiting to see what the economy does before execrising more options.
N412MC - QF Leased B744F has / is being parked in BNE for 10days.
Not a cheap execrise i imagine. Does QF only pay when the engines are running thos ? Will be departing for HKG Next week.
