Read on the back page of the Sunday Times about an "as new" Spifire about to be auctioned on the internet.
Wish I had enough!-anybody know about this out of interest?
Don't know if it's connected but Flypast mentioned the 'Millennium Collection' up for auction - 3 remanufactured 'zero houred' Spitfires, a Mk 9, a Mk 16 and a Mk 18, estimate about £4 million. Moan.
The Sptifire in question is a Mk XVIII and was restored by Historic Flying at Audley End. It will be auctioned on eBay this Friday. Bidding starts at £1.2m and includes training, assuming you have a licence in the first place!
