Emirates Engineer hold pool

So my gf was selected as a junior line repair engineer for emirates about 3 weeks ago and have already been given a go ahead for Background Check and Med Check...but today she got a call saying that the upper management has put all recruitment in the Hold Pool!


Any clue what that means? would she get in? how long is it going to take?

This 'hold pool' can exceed 2 years duration and will involve re-interview
if and when there's an upturn - don't hang about for any company
(even EK) - consider other employment opportunities if they exist in the meantime!

sad to realize, she's got selected at the midst of this financial crisis that even a prospective employer such as EK has to tighten the belt of cost/profit balance and declared a 'hold pool' then. Just tell her to keep on scouting out though it is really hard for now to find company/airline/mro to be on recruitement trend. goodluck then..:)
