Friend was a passenger on the Emirates flight from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai which touches down in Dakar, a month or so ago. He said there were what appeared to be a couple of aborted landings at Dhaka and when it finally touched down, it wasn't at all confidently! The landing in Dubai wasn't much better and his nerves are now somewhat battered. (He does understand that any landing he can walk away from counts as a goodie.)
Fully appreciate that uninformed SLFs translation of the aircraft's jolts and judders may make a more dramatic story than the reality but can anyone shed any light on what DID happen?
Vaguely recollect a thread discussing an EK aircraft's attempted snog with the ATC tower at Dubai - was this the same flight?
Thanks in advance for any info. Only curious as I'm heading that way myself and want to be prepared for what may turn out to be standard procedure! :)
