Catch Carte Blanche tomorrow (Sunday) night. "In only one month of last year light plane crashes in South Africa claimed the lives of 25 people. Investigations cited bad weather, pilot error and overloading as some of the causes. But a more alarming possible reason has also come to light. Carte Blanche investigates," says the website.
This is going to be very interesting!

Seems they did lock up the son, he's charged with fraud relating to the alleged passing candidates on their flight tests after recieving a bribe to do so. I wonder if the charges of manslaughter will follow if they prove that the licence for the Nigerian chap that killed his countryman and the unfortnate young lady was fraudulent?

The question does arise though; did the son do this on his own account or did dad tell him to do so and now son is taking the fall as t's his name on the forms? Anyone who knows S.V also knows he doesn't do a thing without daddy's consent/input/knowlege.

Congrats CAA and SAP for actually taking strong action and holding someone accountable:ok:

Anyone watching Carte B last night would have been embarassed by TAS's comments, such as "im not a racist but would you let your daughter fly with 2 black Nigerians ?" not exactly his words but that what exactly what he was implying, the worst part though is he signed out the clown who killed himself and the 2 other pax! He shows no signs of any remorse or guilt. Unfortunately I've had to deal with him in the past and he's not a nice puppy, arrogance personified and uses aggression mostly to get his way, to be short and sweet if they're found to be guilty I hope both are locked away for a very long time.

It just proves: what goes around comes around. I hope the law runs its course & they get what they deserve:D

It's a pitty that the whole family is entrenched in aviation. The older son C.V., is just as dodgey as his old man. His reputation tarnishes the image of a prominant aviation company & the scary thing is that he is a DE.
His wife T.V., seems to also be working the family magic in Stinky Link.

U can run but u can't hide.:=

In days gone by, if memory serves me correctly, check flights were done by CAA inspectors? Why can't we have a system whereby these flight tests are done by someone outside the school. Surely we have enough retired ALTPs out there who would be more than willing to serve in this regard?

It is not correct to say that they have done anything wrong.
Let them have there day in court. What ever happened to Innocent till proven guilty?
I know CV and SV. They are both honest and hard working guys. And yes CV is a DE,and a very good one at that I must say.

So Please all. Stop the BLA BLA BLA.

Four engine Jock.
I am speculating but because of your "name" i can imagine u r a contractor who is loyal to his boss. It soo cute.:yuk: I think u must find new friends. I dont want to be the one who says: i told u so.

A 'little bird' told me that RFA is known for students goin 'solo' with instructors sitting next to them. S.V. was the CFI. Its amazing that he didnt know.......$$$$$$

U r right though. Let them have their day in court in our flawless & superior diplomatic justice system. I have said my say:oh:

spider dog little bird? You're a real animal. We all know Carte Blanche to be entertaining but sensationalistic. I'm with the majority. Let the facts speak for themselves. Thank God that CB and Pprune are not the courts. The real villain here may have been the CAA not doing their job and using CB to spread dirt. Colin has had ample time to clean up.

Court or no court date, facts are there for any one to see. How many accidents has this crowd been involved in ? Find out and you'll agree that there is something horribly wrong at this out fit. None so blind as those that don't want to see

4 engine Joc: You're right, every1 does deserve their day in court, but lets be realistic. The police wouldn't have arrested the man if there wasn't any hard evidence that bribery was taking place. We all know SV is an employee of yours and Mr.T at Interair and it'd look bad for you guys if he went to the slammer.

But what happened here is that people have died as a direct result of Tas and SV's actions. If they hadn't signed out Blessing, he would have never have pranged that arrow and 3 sets of parents wouldn't have to put flowers on the graves of their children. As the mother of the young lady said 'they may as well have put a loaded gun to her head and pulled the trigger'

Testing of any sorts should be outsourced by the flight schools to the CAA. The CAA should then appoint a testing officer by systematically working through the list of DE’s. The charges from PPL all the way through to ATPL should be as per a standard charge regulated by the CAA.
By doing this there is no incentive to be a ‘nice’ DE, becoming popular and then making more money. When it’s your turn you test, record the result, then wait for the next call from the CAA.
By having a DE testing the students you would also move away from pressure being applied on low time GRII instructs to pass incompetent students.
Monitoring of the flight schools would then become a lot easy for the CAA. Any trend that starts to develop like regular failings from students at a particular school by the now independent DE’s can be investigated.
What you would have is every test by the DE being an assessment of the school standards by a CAA representative.

If a system like this were in place many accidents in the future such as the arrow case above will be avoided.

Well that’s my 2c worth.:ok:

Facts? Why, because you saw it on TV? The only 'fact' is that you are only willing to post your biased slander under a pseudonym. How honourable.

And no I have never worked there.

Fact: 3 people are dead.
Fact: Blessing was washed from 43 air school and other organisations due to his total ineptitude. He had over 100hrs,yes thats a fact too, and still couldn't hack a PPL test before going to Rand. That alone speaks volumes.
Fact: Arrest warrants aren't issued cuz the cops saw it on tv and decided to arrest the guy. They have to have hard evidence to charge you.
It doesn't require rocket science to realise something is fishy there.

I have first hand knowlege and experience of SV and his dad so it's not biased slander, its argument and OPINION based on that 1st hand knowlege and of facts. Not on what I saw on TV.

Of course I post under a psuedonym here, whats that got to do with honour? It's an anonymous forum, therefore its my perogative to do so. Muppet.
But I'll go no further Whiney, because arguing with you is like having a battle of wits with an unarmed man.:ugh:So lets just stick to the topic.

Being arrested and being guilty are rather diffent things. But you probably know all of that already.

Thanks for the rest of your tirade, kinda amusing in a way.

You said it WhinerLiner, that is you real name right? I’m just assuming that if you have a go at someone for being ‘dishonourable’ for hiding behind a name you wouldn’t do the same thing??

But the facts are there, lets not forget the CAA investigation. You don’t get the bossman at CAA saying that they want to revoke their ATO permanently if he doesn’t have proof to back it up.

And sure there is a difference between being arrested and being guilty. Just like there are guilty people out there who haven’t been arrested. So now does that mean they are innocent?? You are innocent until proven guilty and being arrested is just the police saying ‘ok, now prove you are innocent because we have reason to believe otherwise’

There are reasons as to why those aircraft crashed, be it bad maintenance or incompetent pilots. And whichever way you look at it, RFA need to be held responsible for the answers people want to know.

Lets just hope that those responsible are held accountable, whoever they may be.

As a student I was checked out by a then flying inspector from DCA not to find out my form but to check the instructors
As A CFI one only had to fly with a instructors pupils to determine not only his ability and more importantly his approach to the job.
DCA's approach to flying schools inspection feel away when a certain hospital fitted became the chief flying inspector. As a civil servant it was taboo to work over the weekend when most of flying training takes place. To raise the standard it is doubtful whether 4 throttles or ALTP's will help regulate visits by current Flying Inspectors is what is required
