Oh dear, what a shame that stuff like this has to happen. It appears that the MP3 player was of the flash-drive variety and once the story appeared, an american women then (belatedly?) admitted that her home had been broken into and items containing sensitive info had been stolen.

Receive something like that and make a call to the embassy and let them handle it.

You still get the coffee with no sugar guys visiting and a new player but you don't draw attention to it.
