Hello there!!
I live in Greece, where I've done my training so far (JAA PPL and JAA ATPL Theory), and I consider going in Florida for the hour building, the JAA ME CPL and the JAA ME IR.. The "candidates" are: European Flight training/Naples Air Center/Ormond Beach Aviation/Orlando Flight Training/The Pilot Training College. Does anyone have a suggestion or a previous experience concerning any of these FTO's? Is it a smart choice to go to for a JAA licence in the States or is it worth the extra money and time doing it in the UK? And as a last question, any feedbacks from Aerofan or Aerodynamics Malaga in Spain?
Thank you ;)

The Pilot Training College is run under the Irish "IAA" Authorities.

First thing would be to ask them *if* they will accept your exam results - if not, then you only have four schools to consider rather than five.

Hey there,

I would also be interested in any comments from people who recently did ME or CPL training with any of the 4 flight schools in Florida.(NAC,OFT,OBA,EFT)

Also any recent experiences with Aerodynamics Malaga would be appreciated.

Thanks alot,

Daniel

Hi guys,

I can certainly give you my views on Naples Air Center. Have experience with them, some good, most bad!

mamapetaw, and Daniel777, check your PM's. Hopefully that will give you an insight into why I would not recommend Naples.

Hi,

If this is only about building up flight hours, i can recommend you a school called "dean international" located in miami (at tamiami airport exactly).
They have a big fleet of 60 C172/152 or so, a lot of instructors.

I have recently done my time building with them and i think this is a good school for time builders, as you can rent a plane pretty fast.

As far as i can remember of Naples, this seems to be a pretty expensive place.
Another place i 'd suggest you is Fort myers (on the west florida coast). There is a big airport called "page field" and it is definitely more quiet than miami (as a traffic point of view, miami is very busy).
But, be aware that you won't find a school as big as dean international, wherever you go, since it is the biggest school (in term of fleet) of florida.

Biggest fleet in Florida?

From what I remember:

DCA - 85 ish aircraft
OFT - 50 ish aircraft
Flight Safety - flew in the once whilst HB and there were probably 75
Then there is ATP
Embry riddle

How many do Dean have? Total a/c that is

My last count at Flight Safety was 108 airframes - but, to be fair, you can't rent them as a walk in from the street, you have to be an enrolled student.
