Part of the job description is "Balancing safety, customer needs and economic variables." Sounds like a fun tightrope to walk.

Are they recruiting LM's and if so what qualifications are they looking for and what is the renumeration?

I heard from a U.K based recruitment agency (I think) that there was a Sudan hub that suited there operation schedule, and pilots were spending up to 3 months there?

I have seen them in Geneina (HSGN) and Nyala (HSNN) recently with L-382 A/C seem to have some kind of contract with Arab nations serving their brothers here in Sudan. Crew were mix of DXB nationals and ex SAFAIR Crew. As far as I know they route DXB - KRT (Night Stop) - DARFUR

747loadie, yes, they are looking for loadies, on the airbus as well as on the C-130

Wings of Fury- I think you must have heard wrong then. All crews do two weeks tour in Sudan (Khartoum)

Wings Of Fury
8th Feb 2009, 00:05
Yeah Jacobest, that sounds more like it,

UN-Coordinated, is it just the L-382 you have seen in KRT? Has the A300-600 also been there? I would like to know what routes the Airbus does?

Not very many at the moment, the A300 has been sat outside the maintenance hangar at ADD since the change of regisration from TF- to A6- for at least five weeks to my knowledge.

Spoke briefly with a recruiter today. He is suppose to be forwarding more info tomorrow. I meet the FO requirements. I am more interested in what the general thoughts are about this company? Are they in for the long haul? Or will they be gone in a few short years? I was quoted a very good salary plus housing and school allowances.

As to the above... are you saying the crews spend two weeks in the Sudan and then rotate back to Doha?

XpressOne

They are recruiting in all areas see www.maximus.aero (http://www.maximus.aero) - the base for crews is in Abu Dhabi - watch out for a major news announcement for Airbus Freighter contract starting in July for a scheduled service operator

Kato747, are you referring to the Southern Air crowd or Air Atlanta?

As far as I'm aware, Southern Air operated for ET and also did the Sharjah run.

Maximus never leased in according to the Commercial Department. Got their latest a/c availability and it seems they are fairly booked for the new year except for the AN124, March 2010 is first availability.

They have two Airbuses operating for Etihad on their cargo routes and a third Airbus is enroute early next year hence the expansion and requirements for more crews to be based in Abu Dhabi - they have had a third airbus on lease from Air Atlanta but it seems to spend more time AOG then flying so they have terminated the contract from end of this month - another lost contract for Air Atlanta.....

You can find full details at www.maximus.aero (http://www.maximus.aero) including link to Careers/Job page - they are adding third Airbus A300-600RF to fleet soon and looking to recruit suitable qualifed/type rated pilots. They offer conversions to A310 and B4 qualified pilots I believe.
