I have a few hours to spare next week when visiting Sale trying to avoid the in laws! Can someone please tell me the location of the often shown spectators spot alongside Manchester Airport. An address for satnav would be superb.

Many thanks

If you go to the AVP, don't get a Burger... or anything with gravy. Don't say I didn't warn you :hmm:

If they are using 23R for landings ( and take off's between 12 and 3pm ) then I would strongly advise you to go to The Airport Hotel. You will have to pay to park your car in thier car park but claim most of it back at the bar when you buy a drink.

When you go out in the back garden of the pub, you will be only 200 yards or so off the centre line and Aircraft pass you about 500 above touch down. If you get to see some wide bodie's, you will be amazed.

Take a coat with you as it can be chilly

What day you thinking of going

The Airport Hotel used to be brilliant, But nowadays they don't seem to like you hanging by the car park wall taking photos etc.

And the beer garden on a weekend gets so busy with families looking at you as thou you are an 'Alien' Lol

Some of the regular spotters have stopped going in now.

The best place is on the 'Mound' by the end of R 23L, The aircraft are lining up in front of you.

To get to the 'Mound' drive under the runway towards the mobberley area.

But if you do go, I would recommend the sausage, chips and curry sauce! :)

Proper sausages not frankfurter excuses!:D

Ahhhhhh .....and what of us lowly narrow bodies ? Oh the humanity !!

if you'd look down our aisles and saw some wide bodies you be amazed on how they can do their jobs !!!

I'll still wave at you though. :ok:
