"Borrowed" from our friends on ARRSE - reckon it's genuine? Anyone know the story:

Looks pretty genuine to me tho' I'm surprised the paintwork/markings are still so colourful. Good stuff! Any airworthy FW190s? Would be great to get this one flyable again..........

I think that our friends on ARRSE are a little behind the times. I think that this wa founf in 1990, or thereabouts. It has been restored and is in the UK. Excellent condition considering how long it was lost.

Does anyone know whether the "new build" FW190 belonging to Tom Blair has now flown?

I saw and photographed this in a hangar at Duxford a year or two back, and was very impressed with the apparent build quality. Last I heard was that it was going to the US, but am not aware of whether it has done any test flying here - I would have expected to at least see news and photos in the aviation magazines if it has.

I stand corrected, Brewster Buffalo, I knew that it had been in the UK, but did not know that it had left. You mention that the internet said it was hoped to have engine tests sometime in 2006. Does anyone know the state of the restoration today?

603DX. No, not flown as yet. Have seen it taxi a couple of times, and it IS due to go to the US. Don't know whether it will fly here first.

The 190 in the video clip was imported to the UK and spent some time at Doug Arnold's place at Biggin Hill. I saw it there sitting next to the PBY in 92. Amazing how even the paint was still there after 50+ years in the wilderness. Later sold to Paul Allen and restored with the original engine. Don't think it's flown yet.
