I am currently a pilot but probably only for about another hour or so as i'm off to the specialist with what is more than likely going to be a career ending eye problem.I would like to stay in the industry but not sure in what capacity so any information re: careers in ops, dispatch or ATC etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear about your problems. In Oz the medical standard for ATC is the same as for a commercial pilot. Best of luck

SNA,

Terribly sorry to hear about your problem. Would your current company put you on ground duty? I think ATC would require a similar medical standards in many parts of the world, but certainly ground based job in aviation should be available, depending on your previous experience. How about even re-training as an engineer?

I hope you manage to keep hold of your medical, but please keep your chin up even if you don't. There is life after flying...

Sorry to hear about your medical problem. How about a job as a simulator instructor? Where I work, a couple of Captains had health problems, and the company gave them jobs as simulator instructors.
