My Arabic speaking friend heard this on the local Qatar radio this morning.
A Qatari passenger had complained that on a 5 hour flight from Tunisia to Doha he was not served any meal. And when he wanted to know why cabin crew refused to serve meals the answer was the crew was on a strike because of some issues they had with QR management.
The radio host asked QR management to call in the show and comment on what had happened and if all this was true.

Can someone shed some light on this?

Hmmmmmmmmmm.........haven't heard of this incident, Luck. I would normally say there's no smoke without fire, but it seems highly unlikely.

This is the link to the show http://www.qatarradio.net/
Program date: 01-22-09 , two parts.
You must download both files and get an Arabic translator. :bored:
Also big criticism from some callers on the high ticket fares at QR.

My guess is that the service was too slow for the complaintant's liking, or they ran out of the food he wanted, hence they couldn't serve it.

'Strike' and 'Qatar' in the same sentence? Not likely, unless the strikers were looking for a one way trip home after a possibly not too short holiday at Qatar's famed Hotel Clink.
