I have a question about filling out the applications for the Middle East. Many of them want the expiration date of your type ratings. On my JAA license that's easy. What about my FAA license? They don't really expire in the States, you just get to a point where you are not current on the aircraft anymore.

How did the rest of you handle it?

Thanks,

Jim

Think most of the airlines over here understand this fact..

Hola acebaxter -
xxx
If you indicate your most current (JAR or FAA) rating date of expiration, list it first.
For the FAA, if they are not aware of this, write "NO EXP DATE (FAA)"...

In any case, they will have to train you and you will be current as per their licensing...
Ridiculous, right...? Why don't they just ask "month/year last flown"...?
That would tell them more about your "currency", is it...?

Thanks you all for the information. I don't want to go to the bottom of the pile on a technicality!

Now all I have to do is find someone who wants to hire a high time pilot without an Airbus or Boeing type rating.

Thanks again,

Jim
