I am going to start my CPL course this year hopefully and I need to get my class 1 medical soon. I live in Sydney and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what is involved in the medical, like do they put u on a running machine and run or go swim in water for a lap or 2 ??? Im just curious as to what goes on, any info would be much appreciated.

Hello Melvin and welcome to Medical Forum. There are probably dozens of answers to your question on this forum. It is worthwhile doing a search. I would suggest you type in "CASA Medical Class 1". The archives may not recognise "CASSA" as an acronym.
cheers

I've done my initial CASA class 1 medical not too long ago in London. You'll have an extended eye examination checking your visual acuity, ishihara color test, visual field test, slip lamp test and eye pressure check. You will be fine also if wearing glasses al long as your corrected binocular vision is 6/6 and your single eye is at least 6/9. No restriction about refraction.
Regarding the medical it took less than an hour and they will do an ECG, audiogram, misure your blood pressure, check urine and blood for colesterol, sugar, lipids and drug test. Plus some annoying paperwork and that's it. Hope it helps :ok:
