Hi All,

I am new to this community but have been watching for some time now. I would like to try to compile a list of people whom have done there Ab initio training in a Tiger Moth in Australia. Up to at least first solo.
The information that i seek would be
Name
Age
Date of first solo
and hours to first solo.

If you care to recall the event in detail please do. Makes a good read for us newbies.

Thanks in advance

Yes, its still being done in a Tiger...

In 07/08 there were 2 young guys age 17 or 18 ,who learnt with "Smithy" at Caloundra.
One went all through from Effects of Controls to GFPT on the Tiger, and then went to a 172 for the navs, and the other swopped to a C172 after going solo..
Both kids did solo in under 10 hours.
I believe the first guy has got into the RAAF ,and the second is doing well with his CPL at YBMC.

I know of a guy at Camden that did his PPL(A) test in a Tiger moth...

I still reckon that would be a great thing in your log book, first solo in a Tiger....
