I'm taking the family to Disney later this year and want to SFH a 5 seater turbine whilst I'm out there (ideally either a 206 or 206L).

Any recommendations on operators or locations?

you got FAA ticket? If not get it sorted WELL in advance mate!

I've got 7 or 8 months and I've found a good thread on getting either an FAA ticket or a based on license.

No doubt it'll still end up being a bit lastminute.com even with all that time!

Cloud9 Helicopters have a B206 in melbourne i believe. If you want geoffs email (owner/operator) give me a pm!

You can get some dual, but by SFH you mean rent it and take the family?
I don't think this is something you can do anywhere in the U.S.

Ah, that's what I was hoping for, I'd assumed that after a checkride I'd be able to sort this?

Try PM ing Hi Hover who runs a 206 out of the Orlando Helicentre on the 192 near Kissimmee or ring (407) 396-6006

He is also a CAA/FAA approved examiner who could probably do the check ride for you as well.

Sorry Hi Hover no longer has a 206 on the 192 as he sold it.

There are a couple of places that you can get a 206 from in orlando.... Your biggest problem is that if you want to drive it, not only will you have to get a FAA conversion but you will have to meet their insurance requirements.

To tell you the truth they would not make any money out of it in the end, as it would be too much hassle for them. If you want to go fly with an instructor and your family, I could set you up in a Longranger, maybe. But no schools rent out 206's. Now a 44 is a different story.

Hey u can check w Bristow Academy in Titusville. They operate 2 206 if I'm not wrong, perhaps u/your famili can go up w a CFI of theirs.

MrEdd, Back when Bristow was HAI Pat didn't SFH his 206 'as a general rule'...

I have found generally speaking, SFH(h) in the US for anything more than a lap around the airfield / local area is difficult as most a/c are involved in training, sightseeing or other work where they are generally busy throughout the day, where the owners/operators can't afford to loose them for more than an hour or three at a time.

If anyone here as any experience or recommendations to the contrary, please let me know and I will be eternally grateful (maybe ;)).

I hate to bring bad news, but I have never heard of anyone over here doing SFH in turbine aircraft.

Not to say that it doesn't happen - let us know how you get on.

By the sound of it I'll be taking an FI along in a LongRanger, after about an hour I'm sure he or she will want to be in the back with the noisiest kid up front anyhow!
