How did you hear about this?

If it it true this will lead to BIG problems for them on the flights to BAH for the US forces!!!

Shame if its true.

Just had a peek on the K4 web site, if you click schedule on the left hand side it clealy states they are still planning operations through AMS / BRU etc.

Welcome To Kalitta Air (http://www.kalittaair.com/)

It was a rumour from the US. Personally I think its BS. I also checked K4 website and shows an uptodate sked. Feel free to ignore this thread ! Just wondered if there was any truth to a rumour.

It's untrue.

Kalitta was not banned from the EU, or from any other location. Following the Brussels loss (and Bogota), Kalitta was investigated by the FAA, by EU authorities, and by the US Department of Defense...and came up clean.

Kalitta is not banned from the EU, and any rumors to that effect are false.

It's an old rumor too, by the way...one put to bed some time ago.

I think it's implied to be a noise issue ( Stage 4 ) common to all airlines and not specifically targeting an individual one.

As SLF I would just like to say I flew in to AMS on Wednesday just a a Kalitta 747 was on it's way for take off. It would appear that they are still operating to the EU.

Hope that is the fact.

Stage 4 issue? It's gonna get real quiet if they have banned non stage 4 a/c:eek:

The stage 4 noise requirements only require presently a percentage of the fleet to meet stage 4 noise restrictions. That's why Kalitta got the -400's. They aren't banned, and they aren't restricted, and they'll keep flying.

748 is supposed to be QC-2, one beyond stage 4. Beats me why they couldn't call it Stage 5. For that matter sake, the stretch 747 will always be the -500 to me.
