I herd on the local radio station this morning that a Cessna 172 (PPL building hours towards CPL) crashed into a Windhoek suburb yesterday. Anybody with information on this incident?

C172 did a forcelanding short of the runway at Eros. Was a perfect landing, but hit a street sign, veered of the road and broke off the nose wheel.

Cannot access The Namibian website, but glad at least no injuries (from what you imply). Was that a PFL or a real one ?

Big ups to the inexperienced Pilot for a good effort to bring the aircraft down without serious injuries/damage!

I agree. I was sitting under the old tower that morning when the airport fire truck an ambulance stormed out. I thought to myself, f+ck, not another one!!.

Luckily nobody was hurt!
