Just watching '' No country for old men'' again.

Think that's going to be hard to beat for a while, although '' There will be blood '' comes close, just on the strength of DDL's performance.

Sorry, film nut.

Thoughts / reasoned arguments welcomed.... :)

We can't go into how great the Soprano's ( & James Gandolfini ) were. T.V. Series Mr Draper. And one of the best ever.

But, No Country makes it as an overall piece methinks.

For the '08 season

Has got to be "In Bruges". The blackest of black comedies.

"No country" is a masterpiece, as are most of the Coen Bros movies. Recently saw "Fargo" again. An absolute classic.

The shots of the Texas sun blasted landscapes is breathtaking.

Bardem is surely the villain of the year (if not the decade). With his terrible Prince Valiant haircut he's Death without the pale horse and probably the only person on Earth who's even more terrifying when he's smiling.

There will be blood starts good but gets boring after a while...

Yeah, probably the best 2 movies I have seen in 2008 were "No country for Old Men" and "Atonement" with Keira Knightly and the wonderful James McAvoy-awesome story.

No Country was excellent - classic Coen bros mind-bender, still not a patch on their all-time best Millers Crossing. Woz thinking of getting a Bardem haircut to scare the kids.

Did anyone see The Diving Bell & The Butterfly? Heard it too was excellent. Waiting for an opportunity to rent the DVD.
