anybody here who has taken the Australian CASA CTC Exams ?

is there any difference with the modules that you took ? with difference meaning, total number of questions and coverage from the actual AME - Mechanical License Modules.

Thanks in advance

I have done the CASA basic exams and the best advice i can give you is go thru Queesland Aerospace college in Brisbane Queensland Aerospace College (QAC) - Accredited Aircraft Engineer Training (http://www.qac.net.au) .

At least give them a ring to discuss it . I think you only get the one chance to pass this so ask them that also.

YOu should know that the CASA exams are very old and unless you have been working on Connies , Electras and DC3 then you will have a hard time passing with self study

yikes !!

then I will definitely have some problems with the exams. I have only worked on turbo-fan engined aircraft, and has never even handled any piston engine nor turbo-shafts.

thanks for the reply anyway.

But!!! Is the number of questions the same ? or is it slightly different ?

:uhoh:

if ever.. where can i find review modules, since I don't have time to go for reviews. I'm just planning to review on my own since im not planning to take it in a hurry.

If you have completed a recognized apprenticeship, two weeks with the books CASA recommend will be enough. No need for pricey courses with external course providers. Only thing a course does, it guarantees a first time pass. :yuk::yuk::ugh:

Well I hope I could do that in one sitting. Ill just try to review as hard as I could and hope that my experience guides me through .. HOPEFULLY!!:}

I am under the impression you only get one go at the CTC exams. Then you have to go back through the complete set of exams if you fail. Probably I am wrong but I think you should check.

You're right!

You only get one crack at the CTC. If you fail, CASA will give you credits for the areas you passed then you have to sit the outstanding ones individually.
If you're ex-ADF or Overseas LAME you would be best to submit an LTA assessment as guys and girls from the defence forces are now getting credits for the CASA basics and some SOE reduction. About time I say... but alas too late for me, I had to do it the hard way! :{

Best of luck with it :ok:

Yeah, I heard you have to clear CTC in one shot. so better to go through CTC course (QAC) I heard that will help a lot for CTC exam.
I'm also waiting QAC to conduct Avionics CTC course since last year. I gave a call to them, but they r not conducting any Avionics CTC course for 2009. So if anyone has gone through that course, please suggest me too.

A group of us at MAEL (in the UK) got our CASA licenses through CTC after a few days of exams conducted by a guy from CASA who flew over for a week (this was in the early 90s).

contact Queensland Aerospace college they do do external self paced training as well.

CTC is a hard slog to do with no help, I did CTC for E&I on my own. I also did a few radio basics at QAC in house and was happy with them.

good luck
