There was a sniff of a suggestion that Air Nelson had a donk shut down in flight at Auckland last night about 2030hrs NZDT.
Any more info?

Hey S2K what was the outcome of Mt Cook's engine failure in WLG a couple of weeks ago? I only got to read the rather sanitised company briefing.

Yes - followed by a visual circuit and re-land, airbourne for less than 10 min.

Yep got that from the company briefing, did the engine poop itself or was is just "an indicator" light as in the brief?

Sorry I thought C100's post was in response to the first.
The ATR failure was genuine, with internal damage to blades & vanes etc.
Engine off to Singapore for analysis.
So was there an Air NSN shut down the other night?

Yes the respose was with regards to the Air NSN aircraft in AKL.
I heard it was an "uncomanded autofeather" though I dont believe there can be such a beast as to go into autofeather there must be a command from some system to feather!

The uncommanded auto feather can be caused by dirty connections in the electrical propeller sensing system.

Yes but the feather has been commanded has it not?
It does not matter that the system actually needed to feather or that a fault caused an incorrect feather requirement.
