Just had a report on the BBC news that a light aircraft has crashed into the overhead power lines on the West Coast Main Line by Colwich Junction in Staffordshire. Believed to be 2 fatalities. Any more info? Know quite a few people who fly around that area:sad:

The plane has crashed at the end of my Nans garden by Hayward grange.

Two confirmed dead and people are very shaken - just spoke to Nan and she was on brink of tears as she saw it go down etc

I'm not familiar with the area. Is there an airfield nearby or did it have a problem?

The old airfield at Hixon is just up the line. I seem to remember they manufactured a homebuild there about 20 years or so ago, don't know if they still do.

Appears to have been a PA 28-140.
