You know them the cool ones: Nitro, Dynemite, Viking etc. The ordinary ones: Air France, Scandinavian, Lufthansa etc. The oxymoron: Speedbird.

But if you had an airline, what callsign would you give it?

I would have nothing but Twotters and the callsign would be Slowfox... ;)

But obviously

Rollingthunder 033, line up zero eight right, you are number two

Winds 090 at 10 gusting to 25.

Your flight plan to SYD is approved.

Noisy Airlines would have a BAC1-11 only fleet and be called Noisyer.

Theres a flying training organisation down these parts who fly PA34s and PA28s, laughingly call themselves Fasttrack.

But those guys on the south coast who use Blackadder pip it for me.

For formation flying I would use "Slipper" and "fruit"

When Slipper formation split for approach, you would have the callsign "slipper one"

And when ATC were asking fruit formation for their details, they could ask "Fruit formation, are you a pair?"

I'll get my coat...

I can't remember the squadron exactly, but I remember when the squadron hamster died at Portland, a memorial flight took place - callsign was "Hamster" (IIRC). Cue ATC instructing them to "Squeak 0401".

"Sphincter 38, cleared for take off, and beware of the big Pentrator behind you":E

The Goan operator who used "Goa Way" either had a very ken sense of humour or was incredily dumb.

I always liked the IAS Cargo callsign. Intavia! short and to the point! :ok:

One of my favourite callsigns was "Speedcat"

It was attached to this beast.....

It's tough to find a callsign that's not already allocated. After many refusals (and one slight alchohol fuelled brainstorming session) we came up with SPACE CADET..........and got it!

Sadly no ATC unit would use it. Can't think why. :hmm: Had to find something more sensible.

THUNDERBIRD was coveted but taken. BLACKADDER is good and gets witty ATCers going.

What callsign would you associate with a future Danish airline?
