From the Sunday Territorian Dec 28th
"A group of Canberra students were stranded in Darwin yesterday when they arrived to catch to catch their Tiger flight to Bagkok - only to be told the airline had not operated from the Top End since October!"
Reading through the article on Page 7, it appears that the group booked and paid their fares n July, receiving cofirmation emails of their travel. The group have not heard from Tiger, nor has any money being refunded to their accounts.
Tiger COO says that all booked passengers had been advised of the cancelled services, and that all airfare refunds had been made.
He was at a lost as to why thegrouphas not been notified and why their air fares had not being refunded.
The group estimate that they have spent another $4000 on lost accomodation, new airfares etc, but Tiger would not comment on any reimbursement to the group.
