The forecast for Moscow VNU, is for freezing fog.

Looks like we will be in the Radisson Kievskia Station for Christmas.

Knew I should have brought my winter kit.

a) Any one else here, the NOPEC meetings should have finished yesterday, but I suspect rolled on slightly.

b) Does VNU have type 4 fluid.

c) In my experience even with type 4, and freezing rain, there is insufficient hold over time from the T3 de ice pad, and all except one runway.

Hope any other guys stuck in Moscow have a good Christmas.

I would not worry too much. Vnukovo and most other Russian airports almost always have FZFG in their forecasts. Well, in the summer it is thunderstorms and strong, gusty winds with showers and visibility of 1000 meters, TEMPO, of course.
I suspect this is to avoid the situation where the actual weather is worse than forecast, and the forecaster finds him/herself sent to Vorkuta airport's met office for the next five years.

And yes, Vnukovo does have Type IV available. At least they did have it a couple of days ago. Have a nice Xmas, where ever you are...

BTW, the weather forecasts in Vorkuta are usually pretty accurate, that is probably because he/she can't be sent anywhere worse...
