Way back in 1976, when Stansted was an interesting airport, there were a couple of JT4A powered 707s stored/wfu over by ATEL/TMAC/Dump area. N714FC and N702PT painted in Perfect Air Tours colours.
They never moved.
What's the history of these two at STN? Who were PAT? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Flew two of the three aircraft.
The company was (at the time) the largest inclusive tour operator in Africa, owned by three Egyptian brothers, who lease/purchased the airplanes from the aircraft broker Frederick B. Ayer, of New York.
The airplanes were US registered, operated on a proviosional Egyptian AOC, flown by USFAA licensed pilots, and were very well maintained, in my opinion.
Later on, the three brothers had a dis-agreement and the airplanes were parked...sad to say.

411A, were the Egyptians Zimex (sp?) or am I completely wide of the mark there. Just curious.

Picture above is N714FC (former N714PA) - was the first 707-321 with PanAm.
I flew it again with red/white livery in Pakistan on ACMI (PIA) in 1977.
Operator was AeroAmerica, a Seattle BFI and W. Berlin TXL charter carrier.
It continued with same colors in 1978 leased to an operator called CFW-III.
Did fly Fiji troops to/from Beirut (UN contract).
As 411A mentions, this was a well maintained and nice flying aircraft.
And then ended-up converted in beer cans, or maybe as a restaurant...

New August 1959 to Pan Am as N714PA. Withdrawn 1971.
Leased to Southern Cross Malaysian as 9M-AQD 1971-72 for spasmodic charters between Kuala Lumpur and London

Returned to Pan Am and sold to Falcon, a dealer, as N714FC. Hung around London (Heathrow and Stansted) for years. Painted up for Perfect and became N714PT

Reverted to N714FC, sold to Aeroamerica of Seattle in summer 1978. This once-signficant carrier was on its last legs, but the aircraft continued oddball subcharters, interleaved with much storage, until scrapped at Boeing Field at the end of 1981.
I would guess the aircraft clocked up relatively few flying hours after 1970.
