Engineering books?

Hey all,

Just out of interest, what would be a good, fairly easy to understand book about aircraft engineering?

I've decided now that instead of looking at aircraft and "dreaming", i want to kick myself in the butt to actually learn about how they are maintained, etc...

A tad pricey, but much more detail regarding Maintenance, than the first book which is really a theory guide for Engineers studying for Licence exams

Aviatordom, responding to the 'etc.' in your post, before you read any book on specialist aeronautical engineering, read The Science of Flight by O.G. Sutton. The others are important and will tell you all about the nuts and bolts; this one will help you towards being able to put your hand on a leading edge and feel the pulse of the aircraft through your fingertips.
