Does anyone know anything about the old Newcastle Aero Club being turned into a viewing balcony/cafe at Newcastle Airport or was this just a rumour?

There was plans to develop the old Aero Club / Wings Bar in to a Visitors Centre (spotters balcony). However, I haven't heard anything on this for a while and I wouldn't expect any development on this due to the difficult trading conditions the industry faces. :{

There have been rumours that as a part of the re-generation of the airport southside, the ex terminal/aero club/wings bar-restaurant building will be turned into a visitor/spectator centre. Its mentioned on the airport website somewhere, I'll try to find it, and post it on here.
