GFS???

Hello all!
Because i dont live in Australia(im a grekk/australian citizen btw)i want to come down to australia for my training.Because i havent had the chance to visit any flying schools,i wanted someone to tell me about GFS.How do you get in?What course can you take threw the university?(i think thats the only way right?)The truth i only want to do is 0 to mecir/cpl.What course will i take?And how long?2 years?which courses are less if any?
Costs?and general anything will be appreciated!!!:ok:

You've been pondering flying schools for a little while now haven't you.

Swinburne Aviation - Flying Training (http://www.swinburne.edu.au/feis/aviation/gfs.htm) should have some of what you're looking for.

I'm at MFS and am very happy.

To learn with GFS you don't have to do the university program. You can approach them directly and enrol as a student. All you have to do is take a crate full of money with you and you will be set.

For a different option try flying in one of the country schools where it is less crowded and much cheaper.

For a Smart option, click HERE (http://www.smartair.com.au/index.html), to see a good school that will give you a Diploma in Aviation, plus a CPL/MECIR for circa $50K.

Unlike ABX i would reccomend a place who doesn't focus on their charter ops ahead of training - GFS do a good job if your planning on going from your training sraight into an airline. Most of their aircraft are glass cockpit and i am yet to find that common out their in the real world when you get your first job. ABX is right about the price though.

I do agree, they can focus on their charter ops a bit - mainly because it is their bread and butter - it pays the bills! They focus on the students too, they two full-time dedicated instructors at YMAY at the moment.

gidday, i am not to sure what a GFS means, but instructoradz i am not sure how you go from flight school directly into an airline? Unless it is like a caddetship?

General Flying Services (GFS) which is now Oxford Aviation is a QANTAS/Swinburne Uni flight training school for their cadets.
