Quick question to satisfy my curiosity -
An non licensed airstrip named "Robertson" was marked about 10 nm SW of YWOL.
It has been removed from the VTC since 05 June 08.

When I flew over there earlier this year I couldn't see anything airstrip like. In fact the terrain at that location looks most unforgiving. I couldn't see anything resembling a current or former airstrip on Google Earth either, so I'm guessing it has long since overgrown.

Does anyone know anything about Robertson? Was it up on the plateau, or down in the valley?

Do you think they may be referring to Mittagong(YMIG) at
34 27'02S 150 29'45E??
Or there is something on google eath that could be a strip at
34 38'43S 150 38'29E?

Blackbird is on the money.

Just had a look at an old Sydney VTC and sure enough its there!

Looks like a small backyard strip to me!

Ah ! problem solved. I missed that one when I was looking. Thankyou very muchly!

As you can see on the old VTC, it incorrectly places it right on the side of the escarpment!
-Ah I take that back.
It IS right on the edge. I didn't notice. (Time to get eyes checked...)

This might be an appropriate thread in which to ask my question.

Many moons ago (1982) I flew into a strip in the Mittagong Bowral area.
It was a very rough grass strip and I recall a long taxiway up to a single building which housed the Bowral Flight Centre. If I recall correctly the strip was downhill to the south with the southern threshold being near a bridge. I had it marked on Google Earth but a computer crash took care of that and the picture on GE has since changed.

I think it is this area

34 31'42S 150 23'32 E

Can anyone confirm that this was an airstrip at some time?

Yep I remember that airstrip Peter. It was closed due to the proximity of the river to the southern threshold.

Still has the single shed there and is used today by powered model aircraft "pilots".
