Hello...

i am looking for this info since a long time ...

i made my home work and googled for the result but couldn't find numbers of hours or cycles.

i am looking for numbers i.e max hours or cycles.

i know one of our aircraft has loged around 12000 hours of engine life and got replaced with new engines ( 2 engines ).is this normal ....or it might be a technical problem led the company to choose to replace the engines ?

thanks

From the Type Certificate Data Sheet

"Life limitations are provided in the A319/A320/A321 Maintenance Planning Document, Section 9 “Airworthiness
Limitation Section”, Sub-Sections 9-1-2 and 9-1-3 - Approved by DGAC.

"I know one of our aircraft has logged around 12000 hours of engine life and got replaced with new engines ( 2 engines ).is this normal "

If you also look in the AMM Chapter 5 Limits you might find the relevant data for engine life limited parts, otherwise check with your maintenance program/planning group or local Airbus rep.

Hope this helps....

It is right to count in "Cycles" rather than in "Flight Hours".

You must search the limiter (ie the parts with the lowest life limit) in the HPT rotor. For a CFM56-5B4, it depends on the Part Number of the HPT Disk, HPT Front Air Seal, HPT Front Shaft and HPT Rear Shaft.

12000 hours sounds good if the Flight Hour/Cycle ratio is above 1.
