Better no to take it as an offense...It tells you something about the kind of personality the guy has when he is commenting on the accuracy of someone's language (either written or verbal)

are these deliveries still confirmed? (considering the uncertainty of aviation industry these days)

SilveR5, in today's environment everything is literally up in the air.

The information comes from a relatively good source (Airclaims). The aircraft will need to be financed, including the leased ones, which is a challenge in today's market.

Expect to see quite a few new undelivered aircraft parked in Renton and Toulouse in the coming months, but probably not the Etihad ones.

I'm not really against that...it seems that your sources are neat...personally I would be happy to see EY standing strong with the others...but I just wanna understand it...

is it because EY performance is not likely to be endangered by this worldwide economic mess? is it because the financial support that can be easily provided to the company? or is it the avaition industry in the gulf region in general that is uniquely in strong position (as ICAO projection is pointing this out) ?
other??

many thanks

Can Etihad Airways find USD18 billion in new aircraft financing? (http://www.centreforaviation.com/news/2008/11/28/can-etihad-airways-find-usd18-billion-in-new-aircraft-financing/page1)

Etihad Airways needs to find USD125 million per month on average in fresh finance over the next 12 years to fund its mammoth fleet plans. This could be the biggest challenge yet for an airline that celebrated just its fifth anniversary this month, particularly as the global financial crisis deepens and concerns over the Gulf region intensify as the value of petroleum exports decline.

Let's take one year at a time...

Next year EY has said that they only need to finance $450m, for 1x A330-200, 2x A340-600 and 1x 777-300ER. The rest of the aircraft will be provided from the leasing companies, which will of course need to finance the aircraft themselves.

That's a fairly modest amount compared to some airlines next year. Industry requirement is something between $60-70 Billion...

Sure, future years could be more challenging. But of course it helps if you have a strong shareholder.
