CX Does not want a strong Union

Come on guys all this arguing about what the AOA has done or not done for the individual needs to stop.

It is very clear that Cx does not want a strong union in fact they would prefer that we did not have one at all.

Why do you think NR runs down to the mail boxes and removes letters from the AOA from our mailboxes.

Can you imagine what we would be working under if we did not have an AOA.

Just for one moment think on why Cx does not want a strong union. A weak and divided union means an easier environment to push changes to COS etc.

Come on join Now and show NR that he will have to work hard for any change!:ok:

Couldn't agree more.....

I've convinced 4 people that I've flown/drank/socialised with this year to join. Imagine what the membership would be if we all tried to convince just one person each to join.

Frogman is right. The AOA is the only way to force the company to comply with contracts.

What is stopping CX from completely removing bypass pay?In HKG there is no such thing as a class action lawsuit.

Therefore if you feel CX is violating your contract and not paying you bypass you as an individual will have to hire a lawyer. Unlikely methinks.
Sothe ONLY thing that is stopping CX from "removing bypass pay" is the union hiring a lawyer on our behalf.

The current situation with SO's is a very clear violation and not one SO has taken the company on about non payment of bypass. It is up to the AOA to hire a lawyer on our behalf and fight it. That is what we pay them for.

That was just the problem.... the company splits us up into different CoS as they see fit. It's their way of Dividing us.... We were not united last time in our fight. Once bitten.... twice shy

The one thing we all have to realize is that we are not all going to get what we wish for. It is about all of us not the individual!

Broadband Circuit, I agree, I've investigated, but I 'can-not' obtain details of which Cabin Crew are members of the FAU or KA equivalent when the jump seat requests appear. I can therefore only recommend that Cabin Crew be given the benefit of the doubt, unless anyone can suggest how to find out just who are paying their way.

Hi all,

Reading through this thread, I can see that there are a lot of happy, as well as unhappy people regarding the union.

From an outsiders point of view - I'm the vice chair of our union and over the past year we have faced some tough times to the degree that our memebers have wanted to leave the union. Through some hard graft we were able to keep the members as well as grow the membership.

About the "letter", the company removed, if you have a "freedom of speech" policy, then try to get the company to issue an apology for removing the "letter"

To the CX union committee, keep fighting the good fight. When times are dark and friends are few, we should stick together for the greater good of all and not think of ourselves and our possible self gain.
