I think it was implemented at the start of this month. And there were a couple of documents on the BOM site but nothing that really explained it well enough. Besides adding the day of the month infront of the times, the only other thing that has really changed is the use of the work BECMNG, meaning a slow change apposed to using FM
Im just hoping someone can give me there opinion and possibly a referance that i can find on the meaning of it.
If for example i had this TAF:
TAF AMD YRTI 220549Z 2206/2312
31013KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN SCT030 BKN090
FM221100 26007KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN BKN005
FM221300 25005KT 9999 CAVOK
BECMG 2215/2217 02005KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN BKN005
So...
FM 220600 line 1 is valid
FM 221100 line 2 is valid (But reqs alt or hldg fuel from 1030-1330)
FM 221300 line 3 is valid
...now line 4. Is it valid from 2215 or 2217 until 2312? Does it require 30min buffers?
Im glad my met exam was done before this came in. What was wrong with the old way? it worked?
