I am a headhunter seeking a very senior mechanical engineer for one of my clients.
The core capabilities of my client include R&D, machining, castings, assembly and testing of turbine jet engines and complete modules.
The job description is as follows:
1. Experience with small gas turbines, including knowledge in the following fields:
- Engine and systems (oil, fuel, electric, control etc.) operation
- Engine and systems architecture
- Engine components manufacturing methods
- Engine maintenance and overhaul
2. Capability to supervise engineering activity in the following fields:
- Mechanical design, verification of drawings
- Design point and off design condition performance evaluation
of engines and their components
- Analytical computation work such as turbomachines
through flow calculations, CFD, F.E.M. structural analysis
(stress, strain, rotor dynamics etc.)
- Engine control – static and dynamic
3. Understanding of materials properties such as UTS, Y.S., LCF data, HCF data, creep data, etc., in order to evaluate components behavior and life length in operation at design stage.
4. Capability to understand metallurgical test reports and their application to failures investigation
