Can anyone offer any guidance as to standard contractual benefits provided to corporate pilots? I'm specifically interested in whether death in service benefits are customary for corporate pilots employed for purely private, non-charter operations. Thanks.

Usually you will be entitled to all the benefits that the other employees of the company receive. My last 'corporate flying' employer paid death in service benefits just as the office staff would have.

Well

Left over sandwiches and fruit are high on the list of extras you can enjoy. Plus free milk normally one or two pints a day depending on the passenger tea consumption rate ( the PTCR )


The opportunity to stretch after a flight by cleaning the cabin floors.:ok:

I'm sure people have a few more gems

Stretching the remit of the thread a little; how about genuine flight discounts as per the staff travel system that our airline brethren get?

Have always felt a touch miffed at the lack of an industry agreement for this.

In addition:

-full health and dental
-long term disability
-loss of licence insurance
-full "uniform"
-company car
-full pension with no cap

There appears to be a 2 year rule in most corporate and "private" operations.

The first year all is grand: the second year you feel unwanted: Then either the department closes: the company is taken over or you just get bored.

If I look at my CV, this is almost the perfect storm of a time line.

As to the other benfits, yes air miles and hotel points are great, but speak to us, and we dont just want a free night in a hotel, perhaps a weeks vacation yes. I know guys with over 2m Marriott points, and no time to use them.

Every 4 years take a months RTW Business class trip, and use the points. (OK thats not a bad plan).

Its a hard life, but then its better than work.

The thread has drifted from the original question, which asked about corporate flying and I am sure that there is a reason for that question.
Unfortunately I do not have the answer but am extremely interested if anyone can assist.
I await any information along with the original enquiry.
