Hi all, would really like to hear from the cabin crew at Heathrow who commute from South-Wales / Brighton.

Is it do-able in terms of cost / time / energy??

I've looked at rail fares and the national express and a set of return tickets on either are very expensive.

Also, I know the rosters vary a lot, but would it be fair to work on say having 4 or 5 trips a month??

Any info/ advice/ insight would be much appreciated.

Many thanks :O

Hi Blusky!

I lived in Hove for a while and I used to drive up and down before/after a trip. The only difficulty was the drive home when I could be exhausted, I would also have to leave plenty of time as a result of the unpredictability of traffic on the M25.
As for the buses and trains. I would not tend to bother with the trains. Its a long winded way to get to LHR. You are better off taking the bus. Now I am not sure about the buses to LHR direct from Brighton but I do know that we get a discount on the services from LGW to LHR. I think the ticket costs £100 and includes ten journeys. Maybe it would be cheaper for you to do this and then maybe take the train from LGW down to where ever you live.
Also, you will find that a lot of crew drive to/from Brighton and are more than happy to drive you home as it often helps keep them awake too! So you may find that 10 journey ticket stretching out a fair bit which is always good!

Best of luck, I assume you are joining on the temp contract so enjoy your training and maybe Ill see you onboard!
