I am looking at buying a seat as a pax on Lao Airlines from Laos, I know nothing about them, I am wondering if they are safe from anyone in the region?

Just look at their website.....it says "you're safe with us":suspect:
Your chances improve greatly if its a VMC day and the crew decide to stay awake.

Flown with them many times, dating back in the days of Yun-7's and suchlike. Survived every trip. Suspect it is a lot safer now that they fly ATR72s and Airbus.
Not a dangerous airline per se. They just fly in to a few dodgy airstrips. Vientiane and Luang Prabang are fine, Sam Neua Xieng Kuang are a bit hairier but still more pleasnt to fly to than drive to.

when the wx is crap and they start a missed approach off the ils, id be a lot happier if they continued the missed app, instead of pointing the thing at the ground and landing long after popping out of cloud....
here's me tightening my seatbelt....
