Anybody knows why EY and QR seemed to have cancelled/suspended their ZED agreements with each other?

This was a request made by QR and not EY. No explanation given.

For those who don't know, ZED stands for Zonal Employee Discount.
It allows airline employees to purchase reduced rate standby transportation for leisure travel on other airlines.
ZED fares are fixed/standard fare levels (High, Medium, Low) applicable to global zones based on mileage.
ZED is used instead of the industry discount (e.g. ID90, ID95, etc.) fare programs for employee leisure travel.

What on earth does this have to do with the reason that QR suspended it's ZED agreement with EY?

Reading between the lines it appears that QR was upset that some of their employees were using it to fly over to AUH to look for work at EY.

Maybe EY as well to prevent the ex QR A320 F/O's to go back there.
Seems that EY A320 fleet is worse than QR can be overall...... Amazing

Nobody thought it could be possible to be worse than QR in the ME but EY did

EY, JUST F:mad:k IT !!!!

I am amazed, is there a worse 320 operator?
That means QA is not the worse operator after all.

Chandler Bing, can you explain further with more details?

Regarding the ZED agreement, you can read about it in the: "QA losing instructors" thread. post#125 onward:

This is a quote from post #128 in that thread.

If you ask QR HR about this, they will tell you it was EY which cancelled the agreement ....YEAH RIGHT!

If you ask further, they will dig up a story whereby there is an issue in paying the costs between QR and EY so QR revenue dept cancelled the deal!

But if you go to the source, both EY and QR will confirm it has to do with the continous stream of employees going to EY!
I called a friend of mine in EY mngmnt, he confirmed the story with as a side note the fact that QR, once more, is making a total fool of itself by doing this!

Indeed, QA is not happy with the crew moving to EY, but instead of improving the conditions, they cancelled the ZED agreement!
Typical QA management style.

Do they think QA pilots cannot get an interview with EY while flying GF or QA? or even a full fare ticket on EY?

A real funny story here:
some 6 pilots from the QA 320 met each other onboard the flight to AUH, all claiming personal reasons to travel rather than EY interview,
Surprise: the EY meet and greet service was waiting for them with a welcome sign to Etihad with the 6 names in bold letters.:O

Chandler Bing, what do you mean EY 320 fleet operation is worse than QA?

Do you fly max duty/ min rest regularly? Consecutive night flying? Non acclimatized rule is misused in a way to make you more tired?
Are you denied fleet transfer to a bigger type?
Do they hire DEC on 330 while you are stuck on the 320?
Are the rules changed over night, just before you are transferred to the next fleet?

Waiting for your explanation.

I can confirm you all that the EY A320 operation is possibly even worse than the QR one!

Ancient A320's, all different standards collected from all over the world

Roster very similar to the QR one. (Nightflights, double sectors, max duty periods!) (Havent you noticed how many times the EY 320s are doing exactly the same flights as the A320 in QR?)

Hotels defenitely worse than the QR hotels.

Fleet management sucks/training inexistant

The only positive thing is that they have Mixed fleet flying between A320/330, however not for everybody as well!

So yes, EY A320 is worse than QR!

But if you start thinking about any long term perspectives, it still might be the better option!

And nobody will deny that AUH is a better place to stay compare to DOH...
Airbus Master: Excellent story..!:O
Yes indeed , typical kindergarden mentality here...But do we have to expect something more mature coming out from Q.A. management....?That's one of the reason why people are leaving this place.Isn't it?

Is there a Total management change in QR since summer, and that is the main reason for all this uncertainty and insecurity, and unfocused management.

Compairing QR Ops+management with kindergarten is unfair!!!

My kids are coming home relaxed and are treated very well. Kids are
respecting each other and none is favourite.
And the best:
All of them are proud to go in their Kindergarten!!!
