I have a question.
This morning on FlightAware i noticed an Air Transat A310 on route to KVCV from CYYZ.
Does anyone know what it may be doing down there?
I know they are expecting a new aircraft in the fleet later this month, could this be the aircraft going for some maintainance?

KVCV, Souther California Logiostics Airport.

This is what is/was VICTORVILLE (ex Geogre AFB). If you look at one of the photo site and type in VICTORVILLE you'll see pics of STORED A/C as well as some there for maintence.

I believe that most of the DAL L1011's went there for storage and Also in the past some of the BRAND NEW UAL 744's.

In the desert and therefore dry conditions to store.

Hope this helps.

Does anybody know if they allow visitors and do tours?

No casual airside access and no tours, but they don't mind spotters peering through the fence. There's a military presence on the field (Air Movements Command), and if there is troop activity you might be shooed away or accosted by MPs. Rare, though.
