Hey gents and ladies,

Not a Spotter myself although I have hosted a few of you when we used to build airplanes in LGB.

That said, it was my understanding that Qantas was going to have their first "official" flight into LAX arriving 20-OCT. The approach into LAX that Qantas uses (and many others actually, coming from that direction) places them over my house at about 6000 feet just before turning final. I live in La Palma in Orange County California.

The big question. Did they dispatch the A-380? If so, I wanted to take a few pictures of it as it came over. I'm not going to go to LAX and this is just mild curiosity (since I work for the other guys anyway) but thought it would be of interest.

So, any of you know if it is still making the trip? There are several QF 747-400's that pass over between 0700-0800 Local so I thought I wound watch for it. I have a local tracking website that I use that identifies flights (on a 10 minute delay) but if it comes into view on the tracker, it will be coming overhead shortly thereafter.

There's also that flightaware thing I've heard about but never paid much attention to it.

Anyway, any heads-up assistance is appreciated.

Jackpot. Currently showing that it will be a few minutes late in leaving but arriving LAX around 0800 Local.

Well, so much for that. Heard it go over, but that was it.

Cloud cover spoiled the view.
