Heading to the harbour for the first time. Been to Macau, but never HK itself. Any local oddities it would be good to be aware of? Recommended "must see or do?" Anything you feel like throwing at us......looks like we will be there a week.

Thanks!

If you like walking HKG has some fantastic trails, sometimes too well marked and paved. Go to a bookstore and get a guide, it is the best time of year for walking, not too hot. On Lantau island there are some great walks behind the airport and around Lantau's SW peninsular.

Mate just forget what the last guy said and just go down to Wanchai. That's all the Hong Kong you need to know.

Cheers.

Well, you can do both: Trail walking, drinking and copulating. HKG is such a small, compact city, everything's buzzing in front of your face. Buy the "Octopus" Card [top up at 7-Eleven] and you can be everywhere via MTR, Bus, Ferry or Tram. When on the Kowloon side check out Ned Kelly's jazz pub off Nathan road; Sticky Fingers Bar at TST [Tsim Sha Tsui]. All within walking distance. On the Hong Kong Island side someone had already mentioned "Wan Chai" section. Sunday evenings all the Flipos [Philippine girls] are having a dinner pow-wow on the sidewalks. Knock yourself out.

After one week you will have seen it all and you'll be ready to go to BKK :D
