CRJ operators

What can I get with a SIC CRJ rating in the ME. Anyone know anything about Felix Airways?

Why on earth would you want an SIC rating? As far as I know, only US airlines do SIC type ratings. Only command types have real value. :hmm:

Felix is a new start up in Yemen owned by Yemenia and UAE investors. They will be commencing operations in November. Felix has 8 firm orders for Bombardier CRJ-700 NextGen aircraft. Initially they will be operating CRJ-200 aircraft. Bases will be Sana'a and Aden.

The SIC type rating is an ICAO requirement. Previously, there was no type of any kind in the US, nor is one technically required within the US.

Only crews that fly international are required to have this "type". I believe Canada was the one country that I'm familiar with that finally put their foot down and said that US crews had to have this for FO's to operate in Canada.

The Part 121 crews we train do NOT type rate their F/Os.
Why?
Who knows. Full type rating training, same oral, same 121.448 to end up without a TR? I don't get it.
These airlines fly into Canada so it hasn't happened yet.

As I said in the Felix thread, Avionco will rob you. I know from personal experience and many more pilots will tell you the same thing. Brookfield has a good rep so far and I recommend them. Check you life insurance before you go to Yemen, as security is a big issue there.
