I guess the title pretty much says it all……

Can anyone recommend a reputable company that offers specialist Life cover to private pilots? I know you’re covered (or should be) when flying club a/c etc for damage to the a/c itself and 3rd parties but I actually want to insure myself, which in most cases isn’t covered my club policies. My current Life Insurance explicitly precludes flying from the cover (unless on a commercial / scheduled flight) so I want to get something sorted.

Cheers

I'm with AXA and I've had no problems, and I've got just a PPL +aerobatics rating. The agent did want a list of a/c types & ratings though.

My broker in North Canterbury has me insured with Sovereign , full cover when flying aero's, warbirds, a/c up to 200 kts and no exclusions.

Agree with all the other posts. Sovereign has my life insurance business for flying and the sunday jaunt on the 600cc.

I don't know about NZ but I've got cover with Allianz (through a broker called Comminsure) and the only restriction is no agricultural work. Other companies had similar rates but restricted benefits if the worst happened in a GA aeroplane.
