Hello
I have an Australian PPL and would like to go flying around Auckland when we go there on holiday soon. I would like to take an hour or 2 as a dual flight to have a quick sightseeing trip. Any recommendations? At the moment Ardmore seems favourite but I am open to suggestions.
Thank in advance

Last time I checked, you could pay $25 to the CAA and get your Australian license recognised over there, so you can even fly in command. Might be worth exploring, especially if you've got enough time before you go to get the paperwork sorted.

Not an option I'm afraid. Last minute trip and only there for 5 days. I think it'll be easier just to take an instructor for an hour or 2. I'd like to fly something other than a Cessna if poss. Any more ideas?

Try Auckland Aero Club or Airline Flying Club at Ardmore - AAC have a variety of non-Cessna types and AFC have a PA-28. You could also try North Shore Aero Club at North Shore aerodrome.

There's also the Auckland Aero Club at Ardmore. They have a pretty smart looking Cessna 152 for $167 an hour dual. They also have a Cessna 172SP for $288 dual and a Cirrus SR-20 for $335 dual.

There's a trio of Grumman American AA-1C's, a Tomahawk, a Partenavia and a Seneca online as well.

Two seaters attract a $18 landing fee at Ardmore and the 4's are $21.

their number is +6492998590

enjoy

I thought that only applied to CPL or higher, under the TTMRA?

I'll put a plug in for Airline Flying Club (http://www.airlineflyingclub.org.nz)...

LMA is a very tidy PA28-180... $235/hr dual.

On the Cessna side, a couple of 152's, a 172 and a 182...
