I have tried up-loading a web page using AOL.
The procedure appears to be successful but I can't access the page.
Does anyone have any experience of doing this? esp. with AOL.
Thanks
Ted

Haven't tried with AOL, but if the upload was successful, then check that your starting page is called index.htm or .html, and that it's in the root of your web directory, not in a folder.

Have you got the url for us to try to see if it can be accessed.
I have'nt used AOL. Normally you need some sort of FTP program to upload to the web. With some you can see what files are at your website, I use cuteftp which is fairly easy and reliable.

The ISP who hosts our company's web site caught me out as on that host, I have to call the home page index.html - it doesn't work with a .htm extension, which is the default extension generated by Microsoft FrontPage! Took me a while to figure that one out - best check with AOL to see which you should use (or try both)

FTP - I use Terrapin, only 25 quid or so (after a month's trial) and makes manipulating files on my host almost as easy as having it on the hard drive locally. Also it checks and fixes my carelessly broken links and other errors!
